It Doesn’t Matter, I Will Be Dead….

‘It doesn’t matter, I will be dead’…This is the response I get from my 80 year old grandfather anytime I bring up anything related to his last days….burial vs cremation, life insurance, service details, finances…anything.

Working in Funeral Services I see that he is not the only one taking this approach to death. When you take this approach you leave unnecessary burden on your grieving loved ones.

Your family is left to make many quick decisions with little to no information and often times absorbing the financial burden. This significantly increases the stress of the situation for those that want to honor you properly.

We should have open discussions with our loved ones about death. This will allow them to be better equipped to make proper arrangements at a time that may be very difficult.
It does matter….it matters to those that will be living and grieving. Get your affairs in order….be open to communicate to those that love you about the inevitable for us all.

My goal is to contribute to Communities having a Good Experience in Death.
